Veterans Club Participating in Pushup Challenge(미국항공유학)

In an effort to raise awareness for veterans’ issues, specifically suicide, members of the Minnesota State University, Mankato Veterans Club will do 22 pushups every weekday during the month of April at 11:45 a.m. near the fountain on the Minnesota State Mankato campus mall. The daily pushup event may occasionally be moved inside to Centennial Student Union’s Lincoln Lounge because of weather conditions.

The Veterans Club, which will begin the effort Monday, April 3, invites the Mankato-area community to come to campus and do pushups every day along with them, regardless of one’s ability to complete 22 pushups.

The club chose 22 pushups to raise awareness of the 22 veterans who commit suicide daily, a figure that comes from a 2012 data report issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. An August 2016 CNN article described how the initiative was catching on nationwide.

This is the third year in a row that the Veterans Club at Minnesota State Mankato has participated in this initiative. This year the club’s goal is to perform 10,000 collective pushups during the month of April.
