Following is a description of Project Passion from Minnesota State Mankato’s Department of Art:

“When everything mixes just right, there’s something quite remarkable about collaboration. The intermingling of skills and experiences, though at times messy, gives shape to novel forms and ideas. This year Project Passion, an annual exhibition showcasing designers’ self-initiated work, features such collaborations. With this show we aim to highlight how creatives are working together to pursue mutual obsessions/fascinations—outside of client support and feedback. Designers from around the world submitted their work and the show jurors—Jessica and Tad Carpenter (Carpenter Collective), Katie Kirk and Nathan Strandberg (Eight Hour Day), Jonathan Black and Richard Roche (Cast Iron Design)—selected the projects included in the show.”
