Northwest Missouri State University’s annual fall All-Employee Meeting will focus on University and community partnership and include a presentation by downtown revitalization expert Ron Drake under the theme “Powering Regional Impacts Through Strategic Partnering.”
The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.
The All-Employee Meeting annually reviews progress on University strategies and sets themes for the upcoming academic year. This fall, Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel also will join Northwest President Dr. John Jasinski for the discussion.
Ron Drake Consulting LLC, a Siloam Springs, Arkansas, company, provides quality-of-life consulting services to small towns. In addition to authoring “Flip this Town: Preservation Made Practical on Main Street USA,” Drake regularly gives presentations throughout the country about his techniques for reviving downtown commercial districts. The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri hosted Drake earlier this year for a three-day visit and tour of Maryville.
In addition to his presentation at the Northwest meeting, McDanel said Drake will remain in Maryville throughout the week to meet with city leaders, local businesses and property owners to develop comprehensive approaches for reestablishing a thriving and vibrant downtown.
